COMMERCIAL SERVICES STOCK ROOM ASSISTANT

Mary I Students? Union (MISU) is the representative body of the
students of Mary Immaculate College (MIC). Mary I Students? Union
(MISU), through the MISU Commercial Services DAC, run an on-campus
shop on the Limerick campus of MIC as well as an online store,
shop.misu.ie

We are recruiting for a Commercial Services Stock Room Assistant who
will be based in our on-campus shop.

THE ROLE

The Commercial Services Stock Room Assistant is a key front-line role
with the Commercial Services Department of Mary I Students? Union.
The role is responsible for supporting the Commercial Services Team in
the orderly management of stock and efficient running of the
stockroom.

This is a fixed term contract with MISU Commercial Services DAC which
will run from Monday, August **Apply on the website**th to Friday,
**Apply on the website**th December **Apply on the website** and from
Monday, **Apply on the website**th January **Apply on the website** to
Friday, **Apply on the website**th May **Apply on the website**. These
dates are in line with the College?s academic year and staff are not
paid when the shop is closed, i.e., outside of term-time.

The hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm and Friday

flexibility with regards to working hours may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

* Dealing with deliveries on a daily basis, ensuring order and
tidiness in the stockroom, avoiding damage to stock and preventing
stock loss.
* Manage stock levels and ensure sufficient stock of goods for both
the on-campus store and the online store
* Manage delivery paperwork and identify any damaged product, any
product not meeting the required standards and ensuring appropriate
shelf-life for food products.
* Addition of stock to inventory management system and driving sales
by ensuring stock is processed quickly and efficiently.
* Prepare stock orders for fulfilment by the Communications &
Services Coordinator

KEY ATTRIBUTES

* Minimum of 2 years? experience working in a retail stock room
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong
interpersonal skills
* Good administrative, organisational and time management skills
with the ability to prioritise tasks as appropriate and work to
deadlines, as required.
* Strong Customer Service Skills
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive
professional attitude
* Ability to work as part of a team and work on own initiative
* A familiarity of and interest in the Students? Union
* Flexibility regarding working hours

SALARY

ABOUT MISU

MISU provides support, advice and representation for its members, the
students of MIC who are based across two campuses, one in Limerick and
one in Thurles.

Representation, Advocacy & Leadership is the core of what we do. The
student body is represented by a democratically elected Executive
Committee who deliver the Representation, Advocacy & Leadership
function of MISU with the day-to-day representational activities
overseen by the elected Full-time Officers (Sabbatical Officers)
?the MISU President and the Vice-President/Academic Officer.

The Union?s Services (including Commercial Services), Operations,
Finance and Administrative Functions are overseen by the General
Manager who is supported by a team of dedicated staff. MISU also
supports and co-ordinates Clubs & Societies? administration and
activities.
